Colostomy Association at ASCN 2015
21 October, 2015
The Colostomy Association attended this year’s ASCN Annual Conference in Birmingham to promote the work of the CA to stoma care nurses across the country.
Sarah Squire, Rosemary Brierley and Niall Norbury were in attendance at the three-day event: manning the Colostomy Association stand and speaking with nurses about what services the CA can provide.
The conference was the annual meeting for the Association of Stoma Care Nurses – a national organisation established in 2013 to promote collaboration between stoma care nurses and the development of stoma care within the UK.
Dozens of organisations and companies were in attendance at the event including The Breakaway Foundation, Mitrofanoff Support, IA support and Urostomy Association. The team at ASCN spoke to other organisations and stoma industry companies about ways the CA could work with them.
The event was a huge success. In particular, there was a lot of interested in the Colostomy Association’s Irrigation DVD and our helpline for parents of children with bowel or bladder dysfunction, JOSH.
