What Led to My Struggles?
My journey began in 2016, shortly after weaning my six-month-old from breastfeeding. I experienced troubling symptoms that quickly escalated, and I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer linked to Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP). The diagnosis was devastating, and over the years, I endured multiple surgeries.
In 2021, I had an ileostomy, which added new challenges. My stoma’s difficult location—close to my belly button—made pouch adhesion unreliable. I often had to change my pouch multiple times a day, sometimes up to seven times on bad days.
