Stoma Helpline We’re here 24 hours a day: 0800 328 4257
Dorset County Hospital, working with our health and social care partners, will be at the heart of improving the wellbeing of our communities. The Stomatherapy Service covers some 930 square miles stretching from Wareham in the east to Lyme Regis in the west, Gillingham to the north and Portland to the south. In addition to home visits, we also see patients throughout their stay in hospital and therefore act as a resource to the staff of all hospitals in West Dorset.
How can we tell our patients to get more active if we don’t do it ourselves?! Our team is lead by the stoma care nurses but we would encourage our patients, their family and friends and anyone in the Dorset area to help us raise awareness of stomas and take part in the challenge.
Stoma 66 is all about challenging yourself. It’s about trying to make regular exercise a part of your daily life. Every step by every person counts towards our 66,000km target, there is no set distance you need to achieve, and you don’t need to be active every single day, just take note of how much activity you’re doing.
