Why we need your support

Colostomy UK is a registered charity, and we generate all of our income ourselves – we receive no statutory aid.

With the growing success of our campaigning, there is growing awareness of our organisation among people living with stomas and those who care about them and, as a result, growing demand for our services.

Your donations and fundraising will help to ensure we are able to provide the information and support people need, when they need it, and in the ways they prefer to access it. And we want to continue to offer all our resources free of charge.

How you can help

Events and activities

From hosting a coffee morning or holding a cake sale, signing up for a sponsored run or walk, taking on a challenge like abseiling or skydiving, or simply asking for donations instead of birthday presents this year, there are so many ways you can support us we are certain there’s something for everyone! We are always happy to hear your plans and chat through ideas so do drop us an email or call us on 0118 939 1537 if you are thinking about organising something and would like some guidance.

For sponsored events, there are a number of online fundraising platforms offering easy ways to share your activity and collect donations for Colostomy UK:

Charity shop collection service

You can donate your unwanted clothes, accessories and household items to raise money for Colostomy UK via iCollectclothes – they pick up from your front door in and around the major UK cities. If they don’t yet cover your area, you could team up with family, friends or colleagues to arrange collection from a central home or office. Call them to book a collection (0344 879 4417) or book online.

Online shopping

You could generate donations for Colostomy UK every time you shop online, at no cost to you. From your weekly shop to your summer holiday, thousands of retailers have signed up to support charities through platforms like EasyFundraising and Give as you Live. It’s quick and easy to set up and use, and could raise valuable funds for us right away.

Support from businesses

We are always looking for companies that might be able to offer their support in some capacity – with donations, Charity of the Year partnerships, running fundraising activities or hosting events, encouraging staff support, featuring us in their publicity, or undertaking any other kind of involvement.

If you have any contacts that could help us, we would love to hear from you. It may be your employer, clients, suppliers, or local businesses you frequent. Unity Lottery
