Stoma Helpline We’re here 24 hours a day: 0800 328 4257
Many people find that attending a support group can help. Dotted across the country, these offer a safe and confidential environment in which to meet fellow ostomates. Some are informal ‘tea and chat’ groups. Others are more structured and have visits from stoma care nurses, hold Q & A sessions, and invite suppliers to exhibit their stoma products.
Although the prospect might seem daunting, setting up your own support group can be a challenging, exciting and rewarding experience. We are currently recruiting for a Community Liaison who will be able help guide you in the right direction. Watch this space… we’ll update this page with their contact details once they’re on board. For now, if you’d like help, we could link you up for a chat with one of our volunteers who has created their own support group. We’re also working on updating our “tips for running your own stoma support group”, which will be available here soon!
